We are providing REAL Japanese goods - handmade crafts, especially Japanese technique and skills.
As same as developed countries, Japanese products have been transed from hand made to machine made.
With this transing, so many handmade crafts are facing or/and faced becoming extinct.
Because following
- costful
- lack of successors
- shurinking markets in Japan
= can't make money
On the other hand, Japanese products are known that are very high quality. We believe that is based on these historical craft persons' mind and techniques.
Therefore the lack of successors, we established "Kanattale" to expand the Japanese hand craft market in the world.
Nature and Human
One of the uniqueness of Japanese hand craft is based on season.
Japan has 4 seasons, Spring /Summer / Autumn / Winter.
Old time in Japan, famer don't have their works. Then they create their crafts. As like tools, toys, wears and Sake.
It was sure, there were so many specialists. However they were also living along the seasons.
For example, Kimono is Japanese well known craft. And not fabrics, also the patterns are based on the seasons and / or month.
If you like Japanese "Samurai". They used samurai sward. You may think "samurai sword are not related with the seasons!".
The answer is Yes and No. Because the sword itself is not related with the seasons. But the "Tsuba" that is the major parts of samurai sword is various patterns. For example, family crest, symbol of lucky. Also the symbols of seasons. Willow is summer, Sakura (Cherry blossom) is Spring, Maple leaf is Autumn. Samurai were changed the Tsuba by the season.
Then the craft persons of Tsuba had to make up the orders of Samurai with the high skills and experiences.
As these example, Japanese people and Japanese crafts has been netured by the nature and seasons.
Mind and Quarity
We are thinking that the other face of uniqueness of Japanese craft, especially hand craft is "mind and quality".
Commonsense of Japanese craft persons are "Thinking Customers".
Easy to use, Beautifulness, Inherit, Suiting for the place and so on, favorite of customers...
Then, one by one of crafts are cramed the mind of craft persons.
We are thinking that the mind will bring the satisfaction for the owners.
Pray for the Lucky and Happiness
Various Japanese traditional patterns are there. Each pattern have the mean for lucky and happiness.
Also traditonal craft persons are working "crean upped" work room. It means buddhism or/and Shintou ritual has been executed, and their mind and crafts are completed without "Impurity".
We Kanattale relate with Setagaya Kannon-ji buddhist temple. Before shipping out the crafts, we bring these into the temple and getteing the pray.
